These are fantastic! Obviously, I love the one incorporating collage. I think you utilize the method in a really interesting way! The way it functions both as a structural element to the overall composition and the way it conveys detail through the patterns. Painting on top of it made it even more intriguing. It made the juxtaposition between the two mediums flow so well together. So well done!
I really enjoyed scrolling through your photos and seeing how you sketched the building that you were holding it up to. That shows a lot of talent. I wish I could draw but I acknowledge it’s not my gift and I continue to play with digital art and photography.
Thank you Cheryl! I’m always in awe of people who can do digital art or photography. For instance seeing the beautiful photos my husband takes, where my photo of exactly the same scene is just average. The same goes for digital art - I’m happily sticking to a physical sketchbook for now 😄
I have a huge appreciation for the arts so I tend to follow those people. Not everyone has the gift of appreciation for gifts not in their realm. So it made me smile to see you appreciate your husband’s.
Nicely done! Now to drag some more of them over here. I really enjoy that they get to write more in depth about their sketches here + the platform lends itself to looking and appreciating the sketches for longer and mot just a moment before scrolling on.
Always a pleasure to read your Newsletter Nino ❤️ love your sketches with collage, I'm a big fan of collage 😊 it helps to simplify and focus on shapes, which I am drawn to! About the prep pages, I already tried after reading your posts, but confess I didn't enjoyed that much...might try again in the future!

Thank you! I think I wouldn’t have had the guts to even try out collage if I didn’t allow myself to draw and paint on top of it.
It's a great approach! I'll keep an out for more. Love the one with the underpainting as well!
These are wonderful, especially the collage and underpainting! You have inspired me to try them out, thank you!

Thank you for the mention. I am pleased to say that I brought nearly half of those sketchers to substack myself. 😅

I believe all artists should think about expressing themselves outside of social media captions. 🙌

I love your sketches, beautiful. You've inspired me to try collage now, thank you 😊
Thank you! Yes, definitely try it out. I can’t believe it took me so long to give it a go.
