I’ve really loved getting a peak into your creative journey this year Nino and looking forward to next year’s posts. I struggle with getting into a sketchbook routine and you inspired me to not give up with it. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Thank you, Loretta. Hearing that, you just made my day. Hopefully I can continue to inspire you to not give up on your sketchbook next year. Merry Christmas!
Thank you Nino, I’ve just subscribed your newsletter now and I loved this post. One of the things I had on my mind for next year is painting more landscapes, and this was like an encouragement to do it. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year! Can’t wait to see more landscapes from you!
That’s so good to hear! I still have many more landscape paintings planned for next year, so hopefully we can encourage each other to keep at it. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you too!
Love to have seen your work. I always feel like sketching on the spot, as opposed to photographing then sketching later, makes your travel more real and commits it to your memory and soul in a positive way. My sketches are always much more rudimentary than yours but they work for me. Yours are wonderful in their use of scale and color. Joyeuses Fêtes!
Thank you Karen! When it comes to committing moments to memory, rudimentary sketches sometimes work the best. Intricate sketches can sometimes keep one from making any sketches at all, because they can feel like they will take too much time and effort. So, all the more reason to rather make a rudimentary sketch than no sketch at all. Have a fabulous festive season!
Love to have found your work and Newsletter Nino this year 😊 your sketches are always an inspiration to keep thriving! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🎄❤️✨️
Thank you, Theresa! I was good to have you here this year. Thank you for all your encouraging comments! Yes, let’s keep on growing and thriving in our artistic practices next year. Merry Christmas to you too and all the best for 2024!
That is one of the things I enjoy about paging through my sketchbooks - seeing that I did in fact sketch more than I thought I did and that there has been some form of growth throughout the year.
