Always inspiring to see your sketchbooks Nino, I specially like all the concert sketches 🎶❤️ you play an instrument too, right?

Thank you, Teresa! Yes, you remember correctly. Used to play drums and guitar too, but the last couple of years I’m just sticking to piano and singing, which means I also have time to make art 🎉

Such lovely sketches - thanks for sharing them. How are you feeling about the Stillman with the thinner pages? I've only bought the ones with thick pages, and I have such a hard time getting over the hump of their "niceness" that they haven't ended up being my favorite sketchbook. I find it hard to commit to the work I try to do in them, though when I have managed to, I really enjoy the paper.

Thank you!

So far I have used the Alpha, Beta, Epsilon and Zeta. Although the Zeta is my favourite paper wise, I still haven’t filled my big hardcover Zeta sketchbook that I bought back in 2019 - it’s almost like the paper is too nice to draw just for the fun - which I know is not the right attitude. My go to sketchbook therefore is the softcover Epsilon - although the pages buckle a tiny bit, there are more pages and I don’t feel too precious about using it, which means I end up sketching more. Whatever gets you to sketch more, I would say.

Whatever are your thoughts about it?

That's so funny--I have had the same issue with my hardcover Zeta! I just feel a block when I even think about picking it up, and so it ends up sitting around unused most of the time. When I do pick it up, I find myself rushing my process and ending up with pages I really dislike... I am consistently happier with the work I make (without any pressure!) in my Bee Paper and Art Creation sketchbooks. They're cheaper and I find them both to be much more approachable. I also like Fabriano pads for quick sketches since they have so many sheets and the paper can handle quite a bit.

Thank you! It’s so encouraging to see how you consistently sketch your days and enjoy each moment. Your sketchbook is lovely and I am in awe of your daughter’s imaginative sketch during the concert!

Thank you, Gayle! Yes, I am also in awe of her imagination. I remember having to do those type of listening exercises back in school when I was a kid - we should probably do them too as adults, they will probably be relaxing and fun.
