I hear ya! I was the same with my first Pitt oil pencil. I have the medium one. I love your drawings. Sometimes pencil on paper really is the best and most freeing way to be expressive
I loved this post, Nino! And all the drawings are beautiful. They have a very powerful energy. I agree on your choice of tools: nothing like a soft, thick pencil. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you, Ana! I just love it when a pencil has the potential to make a variety of line weights and tonal values. It’s something so simple, but it makes me so happy.
so gorgeous! I loved listening to this while looking at your beautiful drawings. There’s so much to be said for celebrating one material, and for loving one pencil. I’m here for this!!
Thank you so much for the support, Raj! I think the same goes for celebrating a colour - actually all simple things in life - like a good cup of tea, the smell of fresh books… don’t even get me started.
Absolutely! Sometimes i think there’s too much focus on mixed media, like it’s the holy grail of proper art making or something. Less is so often more!
Wow I love these drawings!!
Thank you, Lisa!
So simply beautiful 😍
Thank you so much, Astrid!
Absolutely beautiful drawings! I totally agree that pulling back to something simple is so important sometimes
Thank you, Nanette! Yes, I like to pull back to b&w from time to time whether it is with paints, ink or pencil.
why are these pencils so expensive I wonder?
It probably depends on where and from where you buy it.

Such a beautiful post and drawings. I often feel that freeze too and need to just go back to using one or two pens/pencils 🤪 thanks for the reminder!
Thank you, Virginia! I need to remind myself about it often times too.
